
After learning of the well-earned retirement of Principal, Kevin Kinahan, Holy Spirit Catholic School Division is pleased to announce that Mr. Brent Christensen has accepted the role of Principal for St. Joseph School in Coaldale, effective this coming 2022/2023 school year.
Committed to education, Mr. Christensen received an undergraduate degree in Science from the University of Lethbridge in 2003. He went on to get a Bachelors of Education from the University of Lethbridge in 2004. He went on to complete his Masters of Education in Education Leadership from the University of Lethbridge in 2016.
Brent began his teaching career in Holy Spirit Catholic School Division, serving the community of St. Mary in Taber in 2005, before joining Catholic Central High School as a science teacher and coach in 2006. He later accepted the role of Associate Principal at St. Joseph School in Coaldale in 2015.
“Mr Christensen is a knowledgeable Catholic educator,” states Superintendent Ken Sampson. “I know that he will be an excellent leader for St. Joseph School, continuing to strengthen the relationship with the parish and community that already exists.”
"I am so humbled to have the opportunity to continue my leadership journey at St. Joseph School,” says Christensen. “I have had the opportunity to serve this community as Associate Principal and am excited to serve in the capacity of Principal. I look forward to continuing to develop relationships with staff, students, parents, guardians, and the greater St. Joseph community to ensure high quality learning for all continues to be a hallmark of St. Joseph School."
Brent is an active participant in his faith and a member of the St. Martha Parish community in Lethbridge. He and his wife, Danielle, have three children, two sons and one daughter.
